Meet an “Amazing” Who Swings That Club With Joy And Mastery

When asked why he continues to compete, Hale simply says that he believes he can still accomplish something in the game.

Hale Irwin, 72, is the most decorated player in the history of senior golf with the most career wins (45) and earnings ($26 million) on the Champions Tour. He obviously already has achievements beyond most golfers’ dreams and money to boot, but he still competed last year in the U.S. Senior Open and Senior PGA Championship.

When asked why he continues to compete, Hale simply says that he believes he can still accomplish something in the game. This from a man who started to play golf at the age of 4, and broke 70 at the age of 14. Plus, Hale helped raise money for St. Louis Children’s Hospital for 25 years. There is no doubt that believing you still have something to accomplish in an activity you love, keeps you thriving!
