Motorcyclist, Passenger Injured In Crash With Vehicle In Malibu

The motorcyclist and his passenger are expected to survive after the crash on Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu.

MALIBU, CA — A motorcyclist and his passenger suffered some minimal trauma and broken bones from a crash with another vehicle Thursday on Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu and are expected to survive.

The crash occurred about 8:45 p.m. on Pacific Coast Highway at Westward Beach Road, said Sgt. Fray Lupian of the sheriff's Malibu/Lost Hills Station.

The woman was airlifted to Dignity Health-Northridge Hospital Medical Center and the motorcyclist was airlifted to Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center in Westwood, Lupian said.

"They had some minimal trauma and some broken bones, but both are expected to survive," he said.

The condition of the other motorist was not immediately known, he said.

All lanes of Pacific Coast Highway at Westward Beach Road were closed at 8:45 p.m., as a result of the crash, and re-opened at 10:19 p.m., Lupian said.
