Community Corner
Our Local Sheriff's Department
Capt. Davoren and his team go out of their way to connect with every segment of the community they serve.

By Rabbi Levi Cunin
In our fast paced world, it is not difficult to forget to show gratitude for that which often goes unnoticed. I would like to do that today by offering thanks and appreciation to our local Lost Hills/ Malibu sheriff department, Captain Patrick Davoren, Lieutenant Jim Royal, Deputy Sheriff Robert DeSantis and all of the good men and woman that work with the Lost Hills, Malibu station.Â
This week, I was a part of a group that was invited to participate in a survey and an in-person visit to the local Sheriff's office, where we were encouraged to weigh in with our suggestions and opinions about our local station and the work it does. We were urged to be very forthright with our thoughts.Â
How amazing is it that we live in a country where we are free to speak our minds, in fact, encouraged to do so. I'm reminded how different it was for my grandparents who lived in communist Russia, where ones opinion could land them a lifetime in prison.Â
Capt. Davoren and his team go out of their way to connect with every segment of the community they serve. Their concern for the citizens and willingness to listen to our questions and feedback is an inspiration. I thank them for offering us a firsthand look at their policies and operation. I invite you to keep our local Sheriff's department in your prayers.
May G-d bless the men and women who risk their lives to protect us.
Shabbat Shalom
