Outdoor Playgrounds Reopen In Malibu
Outdoor playgrounds reopened Monday in Malibu, with restrictions
MALIBU, CA — Malibu parents and kids finally have something to celebrate: city playgrounds are set to reopen Monday. But since it's 2020, there are also restrictions.
L.A. County has given the go-ahead for a series of re-openings starting in October, including nail salons, cardrooms and outdoor playgrounds. L.A. County said that outdoor playgrounds would be able to reopen at the discretion of cities and L.A. County Parks and Recreation, as long as face coverings and physical distancing are required.
On Friday, the city announced that playgrounds would open Monday with the following restrictions:

- Six feet of distance must be maintained at all times
- Face coverings are required for visitors two and older
- Playground visits are limited to 30 minutes
- Hands must be washed or sanitized before and after visits
- Eating and drinking are not allowed
Unlike the skate park, no reservations will be required.
Similar rules are in place at Malibu beaches, though many people can be seen without masks. It remains to be seen how much these rules, particularly face coverings for very young children, will be enforced.
