Prayer Service Set For Adamson Family
Grant Adamson, a member of one of Malibu's founding families, died Tuesday in a hot air balloon crash in Switzerland, where he was vacationing with his family.

A prayer service for the members of Adamson family involved in a serious hot air balloon crash in Switzerland is scheduled for Thursday at Pepperdine University in Malibu.Â
The service is set for 8:30 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 8 in the Stauffer Chapel at Pepperdine University's Malibu campus, the university announced on its Facebook page.Â
"Please join the Pepperdine community as we hold each of them in our hearts and pray especially for their healing,"Â the university wrote in the statement.
Grant Adamson, a member of one of Malibu's founding families, died Tuesday in a hot air balloon crash in Switzerland, where he was vacationing with his family.
The 55-year-old Adamson's wife, Terry, also 55, suffered life-threatening injuries in the crash, as did their daughters Lauren and Megan, aged 24 and 20, according to Swiss media reports.
The daughters are both students at Pepperdine. Both daughters are mother remain hospitalized, according to the university.

The balloon apparently struck an electric power line while trying to land near the Swiss town of Montbovon and plummeted 165 feet. The 65-year-old balloon pilot was seriously injured in the roughly 8:30 a.m. crash, according to local news reports. The crash occurred at the end of a two-hour flight that began in the popular ballooning town of Chateau-d'Oex.
