Rodas Family Thanks Supporters, Hopes for Answers

The family of former Guido's employee Carlos Ivan Rodas has yet to hear details regarding the circumstances of his death.

Family members of former Guido's employee Carlos Ivan Rodas, who died the night of March 18, have posted a thank you letter for those who have supported the Carlos Memorial Fund, which was established after his death.

Rodas was reportedly found in a pool of blood outside the Malibu restaurant where he worked. The Sheriff's Department commented shortly after that Rodas died from an upper respiratory disease and that , leaving the media and Malibu residents, as well as Rodas' family, to question why there was a significant amount of blood at the scene.

Milton Rodas, the brother of Carlos, told Malibu Patch that his family has yet to hear the official findings from the t as to the details of Carlos' death and what caused the massive loss of blood from his body.

Milton also mentioned that no person with close contact to Carlos "has tested positive to any respiratory illness."

"I just hope that they come up with some viable reason or explanation of what they think really happened," Milton said. "I know it's a longshot to expect something concrete from them after how they initially reported everything and the confusion they created, but I only hope."

Guido's owner Vassil Pertchincov said that so far, the restaurant has raised close to $8,000, all of which will be donated to Carlos' mother. 

Pertchincov, who attended the funeral for Carlos, called the ceremony "very touching."

On the Carlos Memorial Fund website, Milton wrote that after his brother's death, the media sensationalized the circumstances of the death and "added so much to the hurt and pain that my family was feeling."
