Seller Accepting Bitcoin As Payment For $45M Malibu Mansion

MALIBU, CA – Would you buy a $45 million mansion with cryptocurrency? Dr. Wei Tzuoh Chen, a nephrologist, is hoping to attract potential international buyers by accepting bitcoin as payment for his 9,000-square foot Malibu home, according to CNBC.

The home was designed by local architect Ed Niles and features large glass walls to fully appreciate the ocean views. It took $15 million and nearly six years to build the home, according to the Wall Street Journal.

Chen has already invested in cryptocurrency, CNBC reported. The value of bitcoin often fluctuates by large amounts due to supply and demand, among other factors, so Chen could be receiving more or less than asking price if he were to accept a bitcoin offer. As of Jan. 16, bitcoin is valued at $11,435 per unit.
