Sign-Ups Open: Coach Pitch Baseball, Softball For Malibu Kids
Kids, ages 4 to 7, can have an opportunity to learn baseball and softball in a fun, supportive and recreational environment, the City said.
MALIBU, CA — The deadline to register for Malibu's Co-ed Coach Pitch Baseball and Girls Coach Pitch Softball programs is Friday, February 7, the City of Malibu said.
Each league must meet the minimum registration of 18 participants by the deadline.
The baseball and softball programs give boys and girls ages 4 to 7 an opportunity to learn the games of baseball and softball in a fun, supportive and recreational environment, the press release said. Each player receives five pitches from their own coach in each turn at-bat. Players that are unable to hit off the pitch will get a tee to make sure no player strikes out, the City said.

Practices are held once a week on Thursdays or Fridays at Malibu schools, and games are scheduled on Saturdays at Malibu Bluffs Park from March 7 through May 16. No games are scheduled from April 11 through April 18. The practice day and location will be chosen by the volunteer parent coach, and the game schedule will be distributed after the registration deadline.
The league registration fee is $150 per player and includes a jersey, picture package and end-of-program award, the press release said. Registrations received after February 7 are $175 per player and will only be accepted if space is available.
