Soboroff Talks About Civics, Mayor-Elect Garcetti in Interview

Steve Soboroff, the developer behind the much-discussed "Whole Foods in the Park" project for Malibu, discussed the topics of new mayor Eric Garcetti, civic pride in Los Angeles and sense of community in Los Angeles compared to other cities when he sat down with his son Jacob for chat that was chronicled by L.A. Magazine.

"Oh it’s much harder to be the mayor here than it is in New York or Chicago," the elder Soboroff tells his son. "The power here is in the city council."
