St. Patrick's Day Gold Hunt In Malibu Canceled

MALIBU, CA — The St. Patrick's Day Gold Hunt is canceled due to rain, the City of Malibu announced Thursday.

The St. Patrick's Day Gold Hunt was scheduled for 10 a.m. on Friday, March 13. There was going to be a story time with Malibu children’s librarian, a gold hunt led by special guests, a themed art activity conducted by CReATE Studio, a free giveaway from BARE Snacks and GoGo Squeez, and an interactive musical performance led by Cheryl Lev from the award-winning parent-child music and movement program, Music Together.

The St. Patrick's Day Gold Hunt is an annual tradition at Malibu Bluffs Park. For more information, visit the City of Malibu website.

Throughout the Golden State, meanwhile, a growing list of events are being dropped as organizers heed health advisories regarding the possible spread of COVID-19 at crowded gatherings. Among recent cancellations: Holi On The Beach -Fest of Colors: Santa Monica; SF St. Patrick's Day Parade & Fest: San Francisco; Hermosa Beach's Annual St. Patrick's Day Parade and St. Patrick's Day Festival, Parade: Dublin.

The San Diego St. Patrick's Day and Irish Festival, as of Thursday morning, was planned to proceed on Saturday.
