The National Weather Service has extended a frost warning for the Santa Monica Mountains area to 9 a.m. Thursday.
Minimum temperatures for Wednesday night into Thursday morning are expected to be in the 29 to 32 degree range. The warning, which named the Santa Monica Recreational Area—and Topanga, specifically—along with parts of the San Fernando Valley, warned there may be two to four consecutive hours with temperatures at or below freezing between midnight and 9 a.m.
The Weather Service suggests protective measure be taken to protect sensitive outdoor plants. Pets should also be kept in mind.
An earlier wind advisory for the area has expired.
