Wendy Fire In Ventura County Burns Over 90 Acres; 25% Contained
The Wendy Fire which started as a brush fire in a hiking area near Potrero Road and Wendy Drive in Newbury Park, has burned over 90 acres.

VENTURA COUNTY, CA -- The Wendy Fire, which started Thursday evening as a brush fire in a hiking area near Potrero Road and Wendy Drive in Newbury Park, has burned over 90 acres, and is about 25 percent contained as of Friday morning, according to the Ventura County Fire Dept.
Engines, helicopters, air tankers and bulldozers were among the resources used to battle the massive blaze, which broke out before 7 p.m.
Fire crews arriving on scene reported seeing the fire half a mile south of Potrero with a slow rate of spread southward.
