The coastal dining and shopping center is adding BOA Steakhouse, Sushi Roku, Faherty, Anthropologie, Urban Outfitters, SunLife Organics, Handel’s Homemade Ice Cream and Yogurt, Silverlake Ramen and Smashburger.

"So far the community has been very supportive of the new Manhattan Village," Don Ziss, General Manager of Manhattan Village told Patch.

"The Plaza opening last week was well received and we have people enjoying the outdoor area every day since we’ve opened it. JOEY has been a huge success so far and I am confident when the word gets out on the additional new retailers and restaurants the community will be very excited."

JOEY Manhattan Beach opened up a location with a beautiful patio at Manhattan Village and serves up spicy passionfruit margaritas, unique sushi, sandwiches, burgers and steak options.

Between the new restaurants, shops and great weather — people are enjoying the reimagined Manhattan Village so far, Ziss told Patch.

"We always take advantage of the weather in the South Bay," Ziss said. "You can’t beat it."

Malibu-founded and celebrity favorite, SunLife Organics, is also part of the new lineup, along with Handel’s Homemade Ice Cream and Yogurt.

BOA Steakhouse and Sushi Roku will offer new interior/exterior design spaces and offer dry-aged prime steak and contemporary sushi.

Silverlake Ramen, a wildly popular Los Angeles-based Japanese ramen bar is also opening, in addition to classic, American hamburger joint Smashburger.

The new locations are part of the $250 million redevelopment and large expansion project which began two years ago under the management of JLL. The curated, mixed open-air and enclosed experience space also includes JOEY Manhattan Beach, Vans, Mercado, CorePower Yoga, sweetgreen, Coreology Fitness Studios, Cyclebar, Dan Modern Chinese, Edo Bites and local favorite Sidecar Doughnuts.

“We have been working on transforming Manhattan Village into a lifestyle center that offers something for everyone in the heart of the South Bay, ” Ziss said. “We could not be more pleased to welcome these renowned establishments and think the local community will be equally thrilled.”

Alfresco dining will also be a major allure for locals living in lockdown as new and existing restaurant tenants offer new outdoor patio seating. The center’s new design mimics the outdoor lifestyle of Los Angeles’ South Bay, with enhanced walkways and an open-air plaza, created as a green space for people to gather, socialize and experience sophisticated coastal living.

The new Manhattan Village will be a 648,000-square-foot indoor and outdoor dining and shopping experience. It's slated for completion this year.

“We are bringing the best of LA to Manhattan Beach – high profile dining, fashion, beauty and even boutique fitness to complement our existing strong retail mix that includes such tenants as Apple, Sephora, Vans and Williams Sonoma,” Kristin Grove, Vice President of National Retail Leasing with JLL, said in a statement.
