Aquatics Center? Weigh In Via Online Survey Manhattan Beach

A proposed aquatics center for the Manhattan Beach community is part of new Beach Cities Health District campus. BCHD wants community input.

MANHATTAN BEACH, CA — Beach Cities Health District (BCHD) is looking for community input on a potential aquatics facility that would be part of their proposed Healthy Living Campus master plan. BCHD serves residents of Manhattan Beach, Hermosa Beach and Redondo Beach. An online community survey, which takes about 5-10 minutes to complete, is available for community members to weigh in on the proposed aquatics center.

The Healthy Living Campus is proposed for BCHD's current site on North Prospect Avenue in Redondo Beach. Plans call for a 220-unit assisted living facility, medical office buildings, a Community “Wellness Pavilion” and an enhanced Center for Health & Fitness facility, which would include the potential aquatics center.

BCHD has retained Ballard*King & Associates (B*K) as an aquatic consultant. B*K is working to determine what should be included in an aquatic facility and considerations surrounding the costs associated with operating such a facility.
