Manhattan Beach, CA —Are you a local artist looking to exhibit your work to the public? Now's your chance to show off your talents and pay tribute to the City of Manhattan Beach.

The Manhattan Beach Parks & Recreation Department is calling for local artists to submit their work to be considered for the annual Community Exhibition: 80 Years of Creating Community.

"This is in celebration of the 80th anniversary of our Parks & Rec program, and we are looking for art pieces that relate to our theme of recreation this year," Eric Brinkman, Interim Cultural Arts Supervisor, told Patch. "The interpretation is pretty loose and will go through our jury process for final selection.

Brinkman says submissions can take the form of any traditional artistic medium—photography, paintings, drawings, ceramics, sculpture, or other media related to Manhattan Beach.

"We are open to all Manhattan Beach residents and will consider those submissions from outside the area as long as the work has some sort of relationship to the city," Brinkman said.
