Asphalt Paving Work On Eastbound Rosecrans Avenue Today, Friday
The City of Manhattan Beach is reducing the number of lanes on eastbound Rosecrans Ave. during the day to facilitate the hot asphalt paving.
MANHATTAN BEACH, CA — Asphalt paving work on Rosecrans Avenue between Village Drive and Aviation Boulevard in Manhattan Beach has started and will continue until 3 p.m. today [Thursday, Dec. 3] and take place tomorrow [Friday, Dec. 4] from 8:30 a.m.-3 p.m. The paving work be on the eastbound lanes and the westbound left turn lanes only and traffic flow will be limited to one or two eastbound lanes. Westbound traffic lanes traffic will not be closed, however, some left turn pockets will be.
The City of Manhattan Beach asks drivers to find alternate routes to avoid traffic delays during the construction hours and "appreciates your efforts to avoid the affected roadways," according to a news release. The asphalt paving requires the city to schedule it during daytime hours, when roadway temperatures do not fall below 50 degrees Fahrenheit, making the hot asphalt paving work possible.
