Boxer, Graves Closer To Taking Manhattan Beach School Board Seats

The former MBUSD product + a Manhattan Beach mom who's been active with public schools appear to have sealed their wins for school board.

MANHATTAN BEACH, CA — A Mira Costa High School Mustang, Class of 2011, appears to be headed to securing one of two available seats on the Manhattan Beach Unified School District Board of Trustees. Jason Boxer, who has held second place ever since election night, has 7,690 votes as of yesterday [Friday, Nov. 27], with one vote tabulation update left before the election results are certified.

They have continued to outpace candidate Mike Brunick, typically by some 300+ votes with each new count update, and Brunick now has 7,381 votes, making the distance between the two currently 309 votes. For her part, Graves has held the number one slot ever since the first vote tally on election night and now has 10,263 votes at 32.03%. Boxer has 24% and Brunick has 23.04%.

Heather de Roos is in fourth with 6,706 votes and 20.93%.
