Culture Club Sound Bath Will Soothe Your Body And Soul

MANHATTAN BEACH, CA —Grab a towel, yoga mat, and comfy clothes, and head over to Bruce's Beach on Friday to attend "A Sound Healing Experience."

The Culture Club South Bay is hosting its first in-person sound bath event in partnership with Bloom Holistic Healing from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Friday, May 14, at Bruce’s Beach, 2600–2698 N. Bayview Drive, Manhattan Beach.

Tired of the "heaviness" brought about by the community divide surrounding the Bruce's Beach situation, Culture Club South Bay founder Allison Hales believes that it's time for healing and connectivity.

“It’s been a truly brutal year for many of us, and I am hoping this gathering can clear the toxicity by offering some healing and connection amongst the Manhattan Beach community,” Hales told Patch.

The Culture Club South Bay was created to celebrate global culture and race, according to Hales. The group has held a variety of community-based virtual events throughout the year that featured programs like Gospel singers, authors, ethnic food, and presentations on Bruce's Beach.

A sound bath is a meditative experience in which those in attendance are “bathed” in sound waves. These waves are produced by a variety of healing instruments such as gongs, singing bowls, and even voices.

"There will be three healers present, so those attending will receive the full experience," said Hales. "Jennifer Bloom will begin the program by leading everyone in breathwork exercises to release the body of any tension."
