Days Dwindle Down For Three Longtime Manhattan Beach Employees
Manhattan Beach firefighter, two members of Manhattan Beach Police Department are set to retire this week. City Council honors them tonight.

MANHATTAN BEACH, CA — Three longtime City of Manhattan Beach employees are retiring this Thursday, Oct. 9 and City Council will honor them during tonight's virtual meeting online. Firefighter Matt Simkins and police department detective Mike Rosenberger and police records manager Verdesiah Nasralla combined have served the city for 74 years.
Simkins, who lives in Manhattan Beach, was first hired as a "Paid Call" firefighter on Jan. 28, 1987 and became an MB firefighter/paramedic hire on Aug. 8, 1989. Rosenberger joined MBPD on Jan. 8, 1991, and Nasralla joined the department on May 1, 2006.
