Dolphins At Play In The Ocean: Out And About In Manhattan Beach

Downtown Manhattan Beach, El Porto, and the North End are always worth checking out.

James and Licet came to Manhattan Beach Saturday for an oceanview walk on The Strand and in the process got to check out the architecture, surfing and dolphins along the way.

MANHATTAN BEACH, CA — Weekends in Manhattan Beach are always fun, so when Manhattan Beach Patch hit the downtown for some errands, we ran into James and Licet, who were out for a walk in our scenic town.

As it turned out, the twosome had arranged to meet in downtown Manhattan Beach to go for a walk on Saturday, "enjoying our time, the beautiful sun, weather," said James. So, they strolled The Strand from downtown MB to El Porto and caught some great sights. "We were watching dolphins the whole way," James said. "It was amazing."

James moved to Los Angeles within the past week for a "career path." He works as a facilities manager so it wasn't any wonder that he and Licet walked a different path to get back to downtown. "We cut through the houses on the way back," he told Manhattan Beach Patch. "We went up and down [the walk streets] and then came back [downtown]. It was fun. I love the view of the different houses. I love the complexity of what the houses are. Each one is different. I love the style of them."

Along the way they sat and talked and watched a surfing competition just north of the Manhattan Beach Pier. James used to surf and loves to swim. He said he'll be back swimming in the ocean soon. James and Licet said they saw "maybe three people" who weren't wearing a mask."
