Downtown Manhattan Beach Group Hosts City Council Candidate Forum
Hear Manhattan Beach City Council candidates provide their thoughts on the downtown Manhattan Beach shopping, dining and business district.

MANHATTAN BEACH, CA — It's beginning to look a lot like... candidate season! Now, with two candidate forums behind them, the seven candidates vying for three open Manhattan Beach City Council seats are on again tomorrow {Wednesday, Oct. 7] from 6-8 p.m. when the Downtown Manhattan Beach Business + Professional Association hosts a candidate forum online.
The forum will focus on the business climate and ensuring the continued vitality of Downtown Manhattan Beach, according to a Facebook event post about the forum. Downtown MB is home to more than 250 retailers, restaurants and locally-owned businesses and is a prime area for locals, guests and tourists. The Downtown Manhattan Beach Business + Professional Association works to support those businesses to make downtown MB a place for shopping, dining, and more.
Jill Lamkin, executive director of the Downtown Manhattan Beach Business + Professional Association, will moderate the forum. She expects to ask questions submitted in advance by her membership specific to downtown MB businesses. Candidates will have the opportunity to answer every question and will have one minute per question to respond, said Lamkin.
