Gift Cards Brighten Holiday For Manhattan Beach Rock'N Fish Staff
Some 54 staffers at Rock'N Fish in Downtown Manhattan Beach will share $10,000 raised via gift card sales designed to brighten the holiday.
MANHATTAN BEACH, CA — Mike Zislis and The Zislis Group have managed to brighten the holidays for the employees of their Downtown Manhattan Beach restaurant Rock'N Fish thanks to the support of the community via a special gift card sales program.
Back in late November when a band on outdoor dining was put in place for three weeks beginning on Thanksgiving, Rock'N Fish closed and laid off its staff. Zislis, ever the entrepreneur and quick thinker, designed a program to raise money to give to his laid off workers when a $100 or more gift card for the restaurant was purchased. Even when the City of Manhattan Beach devised its workaround to the outdoor dining ban via parklets and Rock'N Fish reopened about a week after Thanksgiving, Zislis kept the gift card program in play.
Now, Rock'N Fish is pleased to announce that they program raised $20,000, $10,000 of which will be split amongst Rock'N Fish staff. "We love our community and are so grateful for all of the support," said Jenna Ritter, Zislis Group marketing director. "We are trying to give back as much as possible during this difficult time."
