Ike's Sandwiches Coming To Manhattan Beach In The Fall

MANHATTAN BEACH, CA — Fans of Ike's Love & Sandwiches will be happy to know that the sandwich shop will be opening a location in Manhattan Beach in the fall. The groundbreaking ceremony for the business took place at the future store's site on the corner of Sepulveda and Manhattan Beach Blvd. on February 10.

"Of all our southern California locations, I've always seen Manhattan Beach as the showcase spot for our brand," CEO of Ike's Love & Sandwiches Michael Goldberg told Patch. "I've been eyeing this area for a long time."

During its grand opening week, Ike's will hold several special events to commemorate the occasion, including a community-based fundraiser and a foodie influencer night.

"Our grand openings are pretty special," Goldberg said. "The first 25 people in line will receive a free sandwich and t-shirt." After that, sandwiches will only be $6 the entire day.

Ike Shehadeh, the founder and face behind the cartoon logo, will also be onsite for a day-long meet and greet.

The beloved eatery is famed for its world-famous Dutch Crunch bread with Ike's secret "Dirty Sauce" baked into every slice.

"Each location is uniquely different and features specialty sandwiches created by Ike that are named after local celebrities," said Goldberg, who's also the co-founder of Fresh Brothers.

The entire Ike's menu is comprised of more than 800 unique sandwiches. "Only about 40 sandwiches are available per store, but it's important to know that every meat sandwich can be made vegetarian or vegan. All you have to do is ask."

Ikes exploded onto the crowded San Francisco food scene in 2007 at a small shop called "Ike's Place." The now-owned and operated business has more than 70 locations across the U.S. in California, Texas, Nevada, Arizona, and Florida, with 10 still to open in Southern California.
