Light Rain Expected in Los Angeles County; Temps Below Normal

Los Angeles County may experience some light rain Friday and a cold front is expected to keep temperatures below normal until Sunday, forecasters said Friday.

There will be scattered showers this morning in Los Angeles County, followed by partly cloudy skies with a slight chance of afternoon showers, the National Weather Service said..

Highs will be in the lower to mid-60s, with a chance of rain at 30 percent.

A west-moving storm dumped about a half-inch of rain on Catalina Island, the National Weather Service said.

Snow levels will be as low as 4,000 feet and lows tonight and overnight will fall to the upper 20s to mid-30s at some high elevations in the Los Angeles County Mountains, the high teens to mid-30s in portions of the Antelope Valley, according to the NWS.

Lows in the San Fernando, San Gabriel and Santa Clarita valleys will dip into the low to mid-30s in some areas, with patchy frost forming, the NWS said.

Much the same goes for the Santa Monica Mountains Recreational area, which will feel lows in the mid-30s to the 40s.

It will be mostly sunny by Monday, with maximum temperatures rising three to six degrees -- but still be two to our degrees below normal temperatures.
