Manhattan Beach Crime: Assaults, Window Smashes, Home Burglaries
Windows were reportedly smashed in two residential burglaries and a commercial burglary, according to MBPD's latest crime map for 9/28-10/4.

MANHATTAN BEACH, CA — Three assaults took place in Manhattan Beach, according to the latest crime map released by the Manhattan Beach Police Department for Sept. 28-Oct. 4. Two were in downtown Manhattan Beach and one was in the area of Manhattan Village shopping center. Two robberies, as previously reported on Manhattan Beach Patch, took place at a Bank of America branch and Trader Joe's retail grocery store.

Three residential burglaries were reported; one in the Hill Section, one in the El Porto area of North Manhattan Beach and one in the 1500 block of Gates Avenue near Pennekamp Elementary School. In one incident, a garage was left open. The other two incidents involved windows being smashed.

Three autos were stolen, and two of those had their keys left in them. The vehicles were stolen in El Porto, the Sand Section just off Rosecrans Avenue and in the Hill Section just off Manhattan Beach Boulevard and south and east of American Martyrs Catholic Church and School.
A vehicle with keys left inside was burgled in the area of Rosecrans and Highland avenues, and 11 thefts occurred in the city. Two of the thefts were for fraud/forgery; one was a shoplift charge; one was a package theft; one was a lost item; one was a catalytic converter; one was a stolen bike, and four involved vehicles left unlocked.
