Manhattan Beach Hits 200 Mark For COVID-19 Cases In The City
COVID-19 numbers continue to rise in Los Angeles County, where 9% of all tested come back positive for the coronavirus.
MANHATTAN BEACH, CA — Manhattan Beach's COVID-19 numbers went up three overnight, hitting the 200 mark. Cities nearby have the following number of cases: El Segundo, 72; Hermosa Beach, 113; Hawthorne, 920; Lawndale, 279; Redondo Beach, 287; Palos Verdes Estates, 60; Rolling Hills Estates, 30, Rolling Hills, 3; Rancho Palos Verdes, 171; Playa Vista, 65; Venice, 127, and Westchester, 223, according to the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health.
Manhattan Beach's climb in COVID-19 cases mirrors what is being seen throughout Los Angeles County, with overall numbers in the county increasing every day. On May 20, the city had 74 cases; on June 27, the city had 121, and on July 10, Manhattan Beach had increased to 194 cases. Deaths in Manhattan Beach remain at 4.
The county confirmed 18 new deaths and 3,322 new cases of COVID-19. To date, the county has identified 133,549 positive cases of COVID-19 across all areas of LA County, and a total of 3,809 deaths. Testing results cover more than 1,336,000 individuals with 9% of all people testing positive.
