Manhattan Beach: Luggage Causes Disruption At LAX Terminal 4
A mysterious piece of luggage prompts procedural protocols to be put in place at Los Angeles International Airport Terminal 4 this morning.
MANHATTAN BEACH, CA — A piece of luggage left behind by a traveler who couldn't afford to pay the baggage fee caused a disruption at Terminal 4 at Los Angeles International Terminal this morning [Tuesday, Feb. 2], reported LAX Police Lt. Karla Rodriguez.
The incident began around 9:20 a.m. when the piece of luggage was spotted unattended near a ticketing area, she said, which launched "protocols" and a call for the bomb squad. Passengers were diverted and "not evacuated", she noted, and there was "minimal traffic impact."
No flights were delayed and the airport returned to normal operations at 10:50 a.m. after an investigation revealed what had transpired.
