MB Police Dept. To Hold First In-Person Coffee With A Cop
The last in-person event took place in November of 2019.

MANHATTAN BEACH, CA —Do you have questions or concerns for local law enforcement? You will have an opportunity to address members of the Manhattan Beach Police Department at their first in-person Coffee With a Cop since 2019 on Thursday, April 15, from 9-10:30 a.m.
"We will have members from patrol, detectives, motors, and SRO's available to answer any questions or concerns you may have," MBPD Officer Chris Ineguez, community affairs and public information officer for the department, told Patch.
The event will be held outside the MB Police station, located at 420 15th St, Manhattan Beach, in keeping with COVID guidelines. "In the past, we looked for indoor establishments, but this year, we want to maintain safe physical distancing for the attendees," Inequez said.

Masks and hand sanitizers will be available.
The Coffee With Cop events did continue during the pandemic shutdown but were held via Zoom. Inequez says, though there was always a good turnout, there's nothing like interacting with the officials in person. "It's a great opportunity to enjoy a cup of coffee, ask questions, and get to know the members of out different departments," he said.

"Coffee with A Cop was launched in Hawthorne, California in 2011 when Officers from the Hawthorne Police Department were looking for ways to interact more successfully with the citizens they served each day," according to the official Coffee With a Cop website. These events are now held in all 50 states and are one of the most successful community-oriented policing programs in the country.
Coffee will be provided by Coffee Bean.
