MLK Holiday Shuts Manhattan Beach City Hall; Trash Pickup Happens
City of Manhattan Beach City Hall will be closed for the Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday Jan. 18, but Waste Management will pickup trash.

MANHATTAN BEACH, CA — Manhattan Beach residents will still want to place their trash, recycle and green waste carts curbside on Monday, Jan. 18 as Waste Management, the city's waste collector, will operate that day on its normal pickup routes. But if it's city business you want, the Manhattan Beach City Hall and city staff have the day off.
Los Angeles County Supervisor Janice Hahn, whose district includes Manhattan Beach, took to Twitter to lament not being able to celebrate MLK and his messages of hope, faith and practical resistance.
Hate that we have to miss the @LALabor Federation annual #MLK Celebration this year. Always so inspiring and uplifting. Here's to being together in-person next year — and to keeping the Dream alive safely at home. pic.twitter.com/5FQkbbVBrt
