Movember Has Come To The Manhattan Beach Police Department
During November, police officers and other staff will sport mustaches to help raise awareness for prostate cancer.
MANHATTAN BEACH, CA — Movember is coming to the Manhattan Beach Police Department starting Sunday, Nov. 1, with some officers and personnel sporting mustaches and mustache pins to show their support for prostate cancer awareness as part of the Movember campaign, said Community Affairs Sergeant Tim Zins.
Movember is held annually in November to raise prostate cancer awareness. With its cut play on words and a goal to “change the face of men’s health,” Movember encourages the growing of mustaches as a way to call attention to prostate cancer.
Movember aims to increase early cancer detection, diagnosis and effective treatments, and ultimately reduce the number of preventable deaths. Men are encouraged to be aware of any family history of cancer and to adopt a healthy lifestyle, said Sgt. Zins.
