Residential Burglaries Top Manhattan Beach Crime Nov. 23-29

Five residential burglaries mark the week of Thanksgiving in Manhattan Beach. Otherwise, there's 1 auto theft, lot of thefts and 2 assaults.

MANHATTAN BEACH, CA — Five reported residential burglaries took place in Manhattan Beach during the week of Nov. 23-29, according to a report from the Manhattan Beach Police Department. In addition, one auto theft occurred as did 16 thefts and two assaults.

The assaults occurred in the 400 block of Manhattan Beach Boulevard and the 3500 block of The Strand. The thefts involved a golf cart, three catalytic converters, one shoplifting arrest and two unlocked vehicles.

Three unlocked garages played a role in three of the residential burglaries and one burglary involved a bike. In addition, there was one attempt to steal a vehicle, according to the MBPD report. The reported auto theft was at Manhattan Beach Boulevard and John Street.

  • 200 block of El Porto Streeet
  • 100 block of 20th Street
  • 1500 block of Artesia Boulevard
  • 1600 block of Gates Avenue

  • 1500 block of Rosecrans Avenue
  • 4500 block of The Strand
  • 2600 block of Highland Avenue
  • 400 block of 5th Place
  • 2200 block of North Sepulveda Boulevard
  • 200 block of North Morningside Drive

The Manhattan Beach Police Department reports these "Preliminary Crime Statistics," which are "subject to change and correction" as a way "to give citizens a good ballpark of crime in Manhattan Beach, but they are not official numbers."
