MANHATTAN BEACH, CA — A program designed to provide meals for frontline healthcare workers at Providence Little Company of Mary Medical Center and Torrance Memorial Medical Center in Torrance continues to do so and is looking for donations that then cover the food costs.

"Downtown MB Feeds the Heroes" began in March as a way to support restaurants by ordering the food sent to the medical centers from restaurants in Downtown Manhattan Beach. Donations from the community are used to pay for the food.

"To date we have received over $119,000 in donations since March, which totals almost 8,000 meals delivered to our frontline healthcare workers at Torrance Memorial and Little Company of Mary hospitals," said Jill Lamkin, executive director of the Downtown Manhattan Beach Business + Professional Association, which is behind the Downtown MB Feeds the Heroes program.
