MANHATTAN BEACH, CA — If you were juggling tuning in to the vice presidential debate, the Manhattan Beach Unified School District board meeting and the Manhattan Beach City Council Candidate Forum held by the Downtown Manhattan Beach Business + Professional Association, the two local meetings are available online to review.

While the MBUSD board discussed how they plan to reopen schools and their audience reached some 370 online viewers at one time, the downtown Manhattan Beach Candidate Forum, whose questions focused on the downtown MB business climate, was well attended with more than 139 viewers online at one time.

As with all MBUSD board meetings, the replay of the meeting is available one the school district website. Scroll down on the page to find "View the Agenda," "Print the Agenda" and "Watch Video." The school board meeting started at 5 p.m., unlike the vice presidential debate and the DTMB Business + Professional Association Candidate Forum, which began at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 7.

Said Jill Lamkin, executive director of the DTMB Business + Professional Association who moderated the forum, "Our forum was very specific to the issues facing the continued economic vitality of businesses in Downtown Manhattan Beach. We were pleased to have more than 115 viewers tune it to hear the seven candidates’ perspectives, dozens more have watched the recorded version since Wednesday. Although the forum lasted nearly two hours, each candidate had only one minute to respond to every question, so the pace is lively while still allowing for substantive responses. More than anything, I’m thrilled with the amount of attention our residents are giving this local election—participation in local politics is key to our continued success in Manhattan Beach!"

All seven Manhattan Beach City Council candidates participated in the DTMB Business + Professional Association Candidate Forum. Those candidates are vying for three available seats on the Manhattan Beach City Council in the upcoming Nov. 3rd election.
