EL SEGUNDO, CA — A woman walking on the sidewalk on Rosecrans Avenue during daylight hours had her purse taken from her during a robbery Tuesday between 6:45 and 7 p.m., according to the El Segundo Police Department. The incident happened in the 2100 block of Rosecrans on the El Segundo side of Rosecrans.

The woman walked past a man who was standing on the sidewalk straddling a black mountain bike. He said something to the woman but she did not understand what he said. The man approached her, grabbed her purse and fled on the bicycle, said ESPD on their Facebook page.

The suspect is described as a male white adult, 6’ tall, medium build, with dark brown hair. He was wearing a dirty red shirt and torn blue jeans that revealed his buttock area. Police believe he may be homeless.
