Sandpipers' Holiday Homes Tour has been a South Bay Tradition for the past 27 years.

The organization was originally founded in 1931 by a group of South Bay women who wanted to help those in their community that were in need. The flagship program, Holiday Baskets, which provides baskets of household essentials, along with gifts for the children, to families in need is held every December since 1931.

What started as a single program has grown into a year-round operation with programs such as Back To School Shopping for underserved children, Sugarplum which collects gifts for children in the Foster Care System, College Scholarships, Summer Arts, hundreds of hours of community service, and partnerships with other local area agencies to support their efforts.

Sandpipers' main fundraiser is the Annual Holiday Homes Tour. Typically held the first weekend in December, over 2,000 patrons purchase tickets to tour the homes, shop at the Marketplace, and enjoy a weekend of festivities. In the weeks leading up to the tour, each home is uniquely decorated for the holidays by some of the area's favorite shops and designers.

Although in-person events have been cancelled this year due to COVID-19, the tour has been transformed into a virtual experience with even more to offer. This year's tour boasts five distinct homes around the South Bay. The virtual experience includes a professionally narrated video tour showcasing interactive walkthroughs of each home with decor vendor and holiday boutique “hot-spots” allowing viewers to easily shop and learn more about the vendors and sponsors throughout the homes.

The tour will also offer a series of mini Masterclasses, which includes special guests sharing tips on organizing your pantry, wardrobe styling, cooking tutorials, and holiday decorating.

In addition to the virtual tour, the Holiday Marketplace has also gone virtual. With local vendors featuring luxurious throws, jewelry, wine & spirits, toffee, and clothing, this is an opportunity to support local businesses and shop small.

Ticket prices are $35 per ticket, plus credit card processing fees, and all proceeds benefit Sandpipers' philanthropic programs. Once a ticket is purchased, and email will be sent to the ticket purchaser with a link to view the tour.

Tickets can be purchased online.
