Sion's Mexican Restaurant Creates GoFundMe Following Fire
The fundraiser was created to assist the family while the restaurant remains closed.
MANHATTAN BEACH, CA — A GoFundMe has been established by the family who owns Sion's Mexican Restaurant following the June 14th kitchen fire.
The fundraiser was created to assist the family during the time that the restaurant remains closed.
"At the moment, we are unsure when we will be back up and operating, as reparations to our kitchen and the smoke/fire damage may halt us for a few months," Christine Orozco, daughter of Sion's owner Jesus Orozco, wrote on the fundraiser page. "Any donations will be directed toward damages and providing relief for the Sion's family while we are temporarily closed."

The GoFundMe was established with a $10,000 goal but, thanks to generous community donations, has quickly surpassed that amount.
"Sion's has been a part of the South Bay community for over 30 years but for me, Sion's has always been my second home," Orozco wrote. " ... we hope to continue being a part of the MB family for double what we have been and more. We appreciate all of your help during this time."
