Skechers Supports The American Nurses Foundation
In recognition of National Nurses Month, the Manhattan Beach-based shoe company is raising funds through a nationwide register round-up.
MANHATTAN BEACH, CA —In honor of National Nurses Month, Skechers customers can help the Manhattan Beach-based company give back to nurses affected by COVID-19. By rounding up your purchases at checkout, your donation will support the American Nurses Foundation.
Skechers is also offering 10 percent off to nurses during National Nurses Month when shown their nursing ID or proof of employment.
The company is taking charitable action to share thanks and support for nurses on the front lines. “We have the utmost respect for the nurses who have helped and saved lives during the pandemic,” Michael Greenberg, Skechers president, told Patch. “Partnering with communities across the nation to show our gratitude for these unforgettable acts through donations to the American Nurses Foundation is a small way to say ‘thanks’ for all of their selfless acts. Our hearts go out to all of those who continue to work tirelessly to get us through this crisis.”

The American Nurses Foundation was founded in 1955 as the research, education, and charitable affiliate of ANA. Since then, it has fought tirelessly to advance the nursing profession through raising funds for advances in research, education, and clinical practice to the benefit of the whole health care system.
As the philanthropic arm of the American Nurses Association (ANA), their vision is to achieve 'a healthy world through the power of nursing', and this is more relevant today than ever. With the future of health care changing so dramatically, nurses can revolutionize the approach to care for the better. With gifts and grants from generous donors, the foundation invests in the wellbeing and success of individual nurses while championing the nursing cause throughout the health care system.

The human toll of the pandemic has been felt throughout the nation, and most acutely by the nation's largest body of health care professionals—nurses. Nurses delivered most patient care when COVID-19 spread throughout the country, Greenberg said.
The Coronavirus Response Fund for Nurses has four areas of focus, which are based on information the American Nurses Foundation received from more than 100,000 responses to the Pulse on the Nation’s Nurses COVID-19 surveys, town halls, and outreach from nurses to ANA and state nursing associations.
Funds donated will help:
- Provide direct financial assistance to nurses facing hardship due to a COVID diagnosis
- Support the mental health of nurses – today and in the future
- Ensure nurses everywhere have access to the latest science-based information to protect themselves, prevent infection, and care for those in need
- Drive national advocacy focused on nurses and patients
