Stolen Catalytic Converter Suspect Captured In Manhattan Beach

Manhattan Beach police arrested a suspect following a vehicle collision.

Manhattan Beach, CA —A stolen catalytic converter suspect was arrested in Manhattan Beach Tuesday morning after an early morning pursuit, according to police officials.

Following the theft in Palos Verdes, the suspect's car was identified by Redondo Beach police and pursued into Manhattan Beach where they lost him, said Manhattan Beach Public Information Officer Chris Ineguez.

A short time later, the suspect was involved in a vehicle accident in the vicinity of Oak Avenue and Elm Avenue in Manhattan Beach where the suspect attempted to elude capture.

Following a police lockdown of the area in the early morning hours, the suspect was arrested, Iniguez said.
