Thefts, Unlocked Homes Comprise Manhattan Beach Crime Nov. 2-8

Two residential burglaries were among the instances of crime in Manhattan Beach during November 2-8, according to Manhattan Beach Police.

MANHATTAN BEACH, CA — The majority of crimes in Manhattan Beach the week of November 2-8 were thefts, of which 17 occurred. Three vehicle burglaries took place as did two residential burglaries, according to the Manhattan Beach Police Department crime report.

The residential burglaries took place in the Sand Section and in both incidents, the homes were left unlocked. The vehicle burglaries happened in East Manhattan Beach, and in one the vehicle was left unlocked; in another incident the window was smashed, according to the report on Facebook.

Items taken by thieves included a cell phone, a bike, two catalytic converters, one sign, three shoplifting incidents, two tailgates, and in four instances, items were left unlocked.

Two auto thefts, including a motorcycle theft, took place, as well in East MB.

The Manhattan Beach Police Department advises residents and visitors "to always keep your doors locked, valuables out of plain sight, park in well lit areas and report suspicious activity to MBPD Dispatch" by calling (310) 545 4566.
