Trina Turk Closes Downtown Manhattan Beach Retail Boutique
The California designer whose brand reflects the multicultural California scene has closed at least 2 retail store locations amid COVID-19.
MANHATTAN BEACH, CA — The Trina Turk Signature Boutique in downtown Manhattan Beach has closed its doors. The DTMB location opened in November 2013, just six blocks from the ocean in a beautiful new corner retail space on Manhattan Beach Boulevard at Morningside Drive. Now, the doors are locked, no merchandise inside other than empty displays.
It's not yet clear why the store closed, though another retail location in Larchmont also closed this week. The store opened in 2017 and was reported to be close to the nearing end of its lease. The store had been shuttered for several months due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Trina Turk, a lifestyle brand created by California designer Turk and her husband photographer Jonathan Skow in 1995, takes inspiration from "the multicultural mix, architecture and landscape of Los Angeles and California." Her "philosophy is to create wearable, optimistic fashion that incorporates the best aspects of classic American sportswear."
