Verandas Beach House Is Back In Business

Bite Catering Couture is now taking reservations for micro weddings.

MANHATTAN BEACH, CA —Are you looking for a beautiful, beachside venue for your wedding or event? Was your event canceled due to COVID? The good news is Verandas Beach House has a new catering and event service that is ready for business.

Bite Catering Couture, co-owned by Manhattan Beach residents Elizabeth and Vijay Goel, is coming in as a new operator in the space until it closes for redevelopment, likely sometime in mid-2022.

"We're excited to bring Verandas Beach House back to the Manhattan Beach community," Vijay Goel told Patch.

The venue's previous tenants, New York Food Company, filed for bankruptcy in July of 2020, and the building has remained vacant since then.

"We hated seeing the place empty," said the Culver City-based caterer. "We thought it would be an amazing place to host events while presenting our catering.

The venue will be opening at the end of April, and the Goels are currently taking reservations for micro weddings. "We're offering micro-wedding specials on rentals through June 15," Vijay said.

Verandas Beach House is a two-story, 7,000-square-foot space that's within walking distance from the beach. It has a built-in stage, dance floor, and a large enclosed outdoor patio/garden space.

"This is a great opportunity for couples who were forced to cancel their weddings during COVID to reschedule," Vijay said.

Elizabeth is a trained pastry chef who fell in love with creating lots of small, tasting foods like appetizers. Bite Catering has been in business since 2008 and is locally renowned for its caviar tastings and high tea assortments.

Vijay says he and Elizabeth are still working on a menu for the Beach House, but to get an idea of their popular items, you can visit their website.
