Chance of Thunderstorms, Marina Library and Blog for Patch

The National Weather Service says there's a 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms this afternoon and late tonight.

Today is Aug. 26. It is the 238th day of the year. We are under a waning crescent moon. Sunset will occur about 7:29 p.m. Here are five things to know:

1. The National Weather Service forecast for this afternoon calls for a 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms with mostly sunny skies and a high near 76 degrees. There's a 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 11 p.m. tonight and the overnight low should be around 67 degrees.
