Music Festival Leaves the Desert for Marina del Rey

The Tecopa Music Festival, usually held in Tecopa, Calif. about 80 miles west of Las Vegas, is packing up and moving from the desert to Marina del Rey.


Eleven bands will perform from noon to midnight on April 6 at the Marina del Rey Hotel, and there will also be craft and art booths. Tickets are $15 in advance or $20 at the door.

  • The Evangenitals: The alt/country ensemble’s repertoire ranges from punk-jazz to hillbilly stomp and barn-burners.





  • Mat & The Venice Square Junkyard Dogs: Mat, born and raised in Venice, and his band members will play a variety of blues.



  • David & Olivia: The country/folk duo has performed at SXSW and the previous Tecopa music festivals.






  • Westside Crew: A 10-piece band that plays a blend of old-school funk and Latin soul. 



  • 2 Bit Radio: A synth-based quarter that will make your body move.
