Why: Rod's Day is a cancer research fundraiser hosted since 1993 by Dennis Fasone to raise funds in memory of his son, Rod Fasone, who started fighting colon cancer in 1990 while a junior at Indiana University. Rod was only given 60 days to live and his inspirational fight against the disease ended two years later.
The Hawaiian-themed party features a sky-diving exhibition, a delicious buffet, raffles and a silent auction. All proceeds go to Dr. Anton Bilchik, Dr. Richard Essner and Dr. Ronald Hurst’s world-renowned cancer research efforts at their non-profit organization, California Oncology Research Institute (CORI) in Los Angeles.
