Heat Advisory Issued For Marina Del Rey

MARINA DEL REY, CA — The National Weather Service issued a heat advisory, warning of elevated fire weather conditions for Marina del Rey, Santa Monica, Malibu, Beverly Hills, Hollywood, Los Angeles and Long Beach from Tuesday through Friday.

The warning is in effect from 11 a.m. Tuesday to 5 p.m. Friday. Daytime high temperatures are expected to reach 90 to 95 degrees, except 95 to 100 degrees in the Hollywood Hills. Overnight low temperatures are expected in the 60s.

Here is the forecast for Marina del Rey:

Monday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 65. West southwest wind 5 to 10 mph becoming east northeast after midnight.

Tuesday: Sunny, with a high near 82. Northeast wind 5 to 10 mph becoming west southwest in the afternoon.

Tuesday night: Clear, with a low around 64. West southwest wind 5 to 10 mph becoming light and variable in the evening.

Wednesday: Sunny, with a high near 84. North northeast wind 5 to 10 mph becoming southwest in the afternoon.

Wednesday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 64.

Thursday: Sunny, with a high near 84.

Thursday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 65.

Friday: Sunny, with a high near 84.

Friday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 65.

Saturday: Sunny, with a high near 72.

Saturday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 65.

Sunday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 70.

"Hot temperatures may cause heat illnesses to occur," according to the NWS. "Those without air conditioning will be especially vulnerable during this extended heat wave."

People are advised to drink lots of water, stay in an air-conditioned area and stay out of the sun. Neighbors and families should check up on each other and young children and pets should never be left alone or unattended in vehicles.
