Playa del Rey Garage Fire Causes $250K in Damage
Los Angeles firefighters knock down the fire in 19 minutes.

A fire in a garage in Playa del Rey Wednesday caused an estimated $250,000 in damage, but no injuries were reported, authorities said.
The fire at 7553 W. 81st St., west of Lincoln Boulevard, was reported at 6 p.m., said Brian Humphrey of the Los Angeles Fire Department.

It was knocked down in 19 minutes by 37 firefighters, Humphrey said.
The fire caused an estimated $150,000 in damage to the structure and $100,000 to the contents, which included two cars, Humphrey said.

Damage to the house was so severe that it forced the residents to seek alternative accommodations, Humphrey said.
The cause of the fire has not been determined, Humphrey said.
