Ritz-Carlton Marina del Rey Earns Top AAA Rating for 20th Straight Year

The Ritz-Carlton Marina del Rey is among the selected group of hotels recently given the AAA Five Diamond Award, the group's highest rating.

The Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Marina del Rey was given an AAA Five Diamond Award last week by the Automobile Association of America for the 20th year in a row.

The Five Diamond ranking is the highest award rating from the organization and just 126 of 31,000 hotels reviewed in North America and the Caribbean received such a high rating. The Ritz-Carlton Marina del Rey first gained the Five Diamond rating in 1992.

"Five Diamond lodgings feature extraordinary physical attributes and meticulous personalized attention, and Five Diamond restaurants feature world-class service and imaginative menu selections using the finest ingredients," said Michael Petrone, AAA tourism information development director, in a statement. The diamond rating system is a 75-year-old tradition, he noted.

Properties identified by AAA as potential candidates for the five diamond rating undergo multiple evaluations and a final decision by a panel of experts. Hotels and restaurants that receive the rating are subject to unannounced annual evaluations by an AAA inspector, according to the association.
