Students Run LA Will Begin Race In Playa Del Rey This Weekend
Student runners participating in the Students Run LA Marathon will get ready to race in Playa del Rey this weekend.
PLAYA DEL REY, CA — About 1,800 students will wear bright green and compete in their final event this weekend for the Students Run L.A. race Saturday and Sunday, with one of the starting lines located in Playa del Rey.
Nearly 700 volunteer teacher-leaders will help lead the small groups of 25 to 50 runners in the 26.2-mile marathon course to the finish line.
Each course will have a start and finish line that's predetermined, where students can be cheered by their parents, supporters, school staff and friends.

Students have trained both virtually and in small groups for this day.
One of the races Saturday starts at 7 a.m. at Dockweiler Beach, 8255 Vista Del Mar, Playa del Rey. Another is at 7 a.m. at Lake View Terrace Recreation Area, 11075 Foothill Blvd. and also 6 a.m. at east Ocean Boulevard and 54th Place, Long Beach.
