Sunny Afternoon, Red Light Photos and Blog for Us
The National Weather Service expects sunshine and a high near 65 degrees this afternoon.

Today is June 8. It is the 159th day of the year. We are under a waxing crescent moon. Sunset will occur about 8:05 p.m. Here are five things to know:
1. The National Weather Service forecast calls for patchy fog before 11 a.m. then becoming mostly sunny with a high near 65 degrees. Fog is expected after 11 p.m. tonight with an overnight low around 57 degrees. It should be the same Thursday with an afternoon high around 66 degrees.
2. The Los Angels County Board of Supervisors has approved further study of a tsunami siren warning system that will take a look at the scope and costs of implementation. The action is in response to the deadly tsunami that recently ravaged Japan. More details right here.

3. The Los Angeles Police Commission has voted against continuing the city's red light camera program. There are 32 cameras spread throughout the city, including a few local ones. More details right here.
