Warm Weekend, Lakers Win and Moms Wanted
A nasty flu bug hit your Patch editor this week. Do you have any home remedies for getting rid of the flu? If so, please share.

Today is Feb. 11. It is the 42nd day of the year. We are under a first quarter moon. Sunset will occur about 5:35 p.m. Here are five things to know:
1. Your editor got hit by a nasty flu bug Wednesday afternoon and if the site has seemed sluggish the past two days, that's because I've been sluggish. I'm slowly recovering and catching up. If you have any home remedies to get rid of a non-productive cough, headache, fever and hot/cold sweats, please let me know in the comments section.
2. The National Weather Service forecast calls for a high near 73 degrees today with clear skies tonight and an overnight low around 46 degrees. Forecasters said it should be sunny Saturday, too, with a high near 75 degrees. (Not a good time to be sick.)
3. Playa del Rey resident Phil Jackson and the two-time defending champion Los Angeles Lakers beat their archrivals, the Boston Celtics, 92-86, last night at TD Garden. The Lakers (37-16) face the New York Knicks (26-25) tonight at Madison Square Garden. Tip-off is at 5 p.m.
4. Did you know you can follow Marina del Rey Patch, which also covers Del Rey and Playa del Rey, on Facebook and Twitter?
5. We're creating a new Moms Council that we hope will range from the working mom to the stay-at-home mom to the stay-at-home dad to the PTA parents to the soccer moms. The Moms Council will use its motherly expertise to facilitate discussions about parenting and help guide parenting coverage for the site. If you're interested, please send me an e-mail at: paul.chavez@patch.com.
